If you are genuinely considering investigating anything...
archive everything you can on your computer before you attempt
repairs.
Then. Have a real computer specialist install monitoring software
to track the incoming crap and re-configeur your machine for the
level of privacy you desire.
(*hint*) don't use a real email address in a usenet post. They
are easily "harvested".
Sounds like you have a trojan installed. get it tracked back to
an IP address before you remove it. Doubt you'll get to the
US Supreme Court with the beef but you will be able to knock out
a couple of Internet accounts on some scum-magnets.
