Smartcard Security Kits?

I realize that these never really caught on - IBM introduced theirs in
1999 and never updated it at all. Does anyone have any experience with
these devices good or bad? Anyone happen to know if they work with ME
and / or XP? IBM only mention 95, 98 and NT and the other one that I'm
aware of - MGVision - is gone.
