I have 15+ years of development and networking experience and about
two years of security, primarily policy development and firewall
admin. I want to persue security, particularly on the policy side.
Right now I am "between jobs". Given this market it may take some time
to find a job so I am considering getting some training and
certification. Looking at posted openings I see that logs of positions
ask for both Cisco experience and security. Would it make sense to get
some Cisco training or should I just concentrate on the security end?
Any thoughts out there? My instinct is to broaden my training since
smaller companies want people with multiple skills, but I am not sure
about the value of going after a "low" level technical skill at this
time.
