Thanks for the detailed answer. But I guess my questions were pretty
vague because what I want to know is how to find out if MY computer is
being monitored, at work. I have a few reasons to suspect it is and
many reasons to be against it.

: Typically if software is installed, this can be detected by the
: owner (assuming they know what they are looking for)
: Hardware is more or less detectable -
: some implementations would be easy to detect, some might be very
: difficult to find unless you know what is supposed to be there.

Can you tell me what I should be looking for?

: Forensic methods look at residual information stored in the PC to
: deduce what activity has taken place.

Is there a way to erase any residual information, asides from the
temporary internet files (which don't really worry me)?

I have a solemn promise from my boss that my computer isn't being
monitored, but then a lot of weird things happen when I use Internet
Explorer or Outlook. I need those both to find solutions and to keep
in touch with customers.

If you know of any sofware that is used to either monitor or detect
monitoring programs, please give me the names and I will look them up.

Anyway, I appreciate all the help you can give me.
Sunny
