:I have a few questions...
:How does computer monitoring work?
Different people mean different things when they say "monitoring".
And there's even more different ways to impliment...
:Is there a way to find out if your computer is being monitored?
Sometimes, sometimes not. Some monitoring methods are so subtle
that it would take a trained espionage team to discover them.
:Are there known existing programs and a way to detect them?
Some of the programs are known, a subset of which can be detected by
other programs.
:Do those programs take up ressources on the monitored computer?
Sometimes.
Your questions are a bit vague. It would help if first you could
tell us what kind of threats you want to confine the discussion to.
Are we talking about those programs that get marketted under the
rhubic of allowing husbands to detect if their wifes are having
electronic chatroom affairs? Or are we talking about how
Collin Powell's main military intelligence computer is protected?
