IMHO it is more important to acknowledge, that there are a lot of facts you
can't influence. Sure users are one of them. But if you agree with that, you
quickly recognize that Risk Management becomes the Top1 task.
This involves designing for the failure, audits, assesments, multiple lines
of defense, focusing on the important problems, acknowledging insecurity and
reduucing complexity. Independend of speaking from a social or technical
point.
