Release Candidate 1.1 of AxCrypt file encryption is available for download from
http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net.
(This release updates Zlib to 1.1.4 due to CERT advisory. As files are integrity-
verified with a strong MAC, the possibility to exploit here is probably nil.)
Main features:
Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP compatible.
AES encryption with 128-bit keys.
Edit an encrypted document directly with double-click.
Passphrase cache - type passphrases only once per logon and/or reboot.
Automatic passphrase validation before decryption or editing.
No options or user interface - easy to install and use.
Less than 200Kb download, less than 400Kb installed on disk.
Integrates well with web based file sharing services.
Compression before encryption - faster downloads/uploads.
Retains original file name of a renamed encrypted file.
Retains original file modification times of an encrypted file.
Wipe and Delete - delete files permanently with one-pass random data overwrite.
One-pass wiping of all temporary and encrypted plaintext files.
Secure memory handling - your keys or data will not appear in the system paging file.
Industry standard algorithms only.
Data integrity verification - no undetected modification is possible.
Unique data encryption keys used for every file and (re-)encryption.
Polyglot - currently speaks English and Swedish.
Easy to add more languages - contact me for a single text-file to translate.
Open source - no backdoors.
It's FREE!
Please read the license agreement before use, NO WARRANTIES etc;-)
/Svante
