There are numerous places that will screen on MS (without even asking what it
is a degree in).

You neglected to specify beneficial for what? I have a MS, a few appropriate
degrees, and have been 'in the business' for over a decade and a half as my
second career - the first was a couple of decades in an unrelated field.
