That's the first time I hear that, Todd.
At the very least, you're explanation is missing something...
I just renamed an MP3 file with a TXT extension and it opened up in Notepad,
not in any media player.
I also renamed an MPG file with an MP3 extension and it opened in WinAMP, my
default MP3 player.
And I renamed a WMV file with an MP3 extension and it also opened up in
WinAMP.
What version of Windows and Media Player do you have?
