Hi
I am trying to grasp what constitutes "security". I am using a Linksys
BEFSR41 Router Version 3 and Windows XP firewall and I have yet to figure
out what protection this gives me. Perhaps someone could spell it out for
me?
Thanks, Dwight
Well the linksys device provide NAT'ing to the internet which is good,
this means your internal IP address for your PC is not visible on the
internet and all incoming connections have to be inspected by the
router. The windows firewall would be good for you if for some reason a
rouge PC was able to get onto your network via wired or wirelessly it
would not be able to view your files **IF*** properly configured.
