Why not?
Because the addresses are checked.
You really think a spammer would bother to filter out that
stuff?
He or she doesn't.
They are as clueless as it can be.
It is all automated through the software.
He just dumps a few thousand emails at an open relay and doesn't care
wether some of the adresses don't work.
I think you need to look at the mass mail software available today.
Some of them even come with software to find out open relays.
