Thanks for your reply, Jeff. Well... ZA's help pages for adding custom
ports shows a screen shot that doesn't look like anything on the ZA
that I have. According to their help pages, explicitly doing what
you're suggesting does look like it should be possible, however with my
ZA I've only got 3 settings ("High", "Med.", and "Low"), for "Internet
Zone Security" and "Trusted Zone Security". I'm guessing that the
limitations on the range of the settings is due to the fact that I'm
using the free version of ZA. However, according to their help page,
"Medium" level security should allow "all network traffic" except for
whatever traffic is specifically set as being blocked, but when I put
my settings at "Med.", the problem remained (and there's also the
thorny fact that the problem remains even if I completely shut down ZA,
even though I did not have the problem before I installed ZA- go
figure.)
