Yea, if you get an IP via DHCP then you're not really setup for a fixed
IP. On the several DSL business class connections I've setup in the last
few months, none of them came ready for Bridge Mode - where you get a full
public IP connection, they were some *** form of a public/private
connection.

Does your DSL connection require PPOE?

Have you tried connecting the PC directly (and this is always dangerous)
to the DSL line and setting it up to see if your Public IP changes work on
the PC?

It's not the firewall, we have them on DSL connections, but you really
need to get in touch with your ISP and ask them how to set it up for a
PUBLIC IP connection.
