Hi All,
I was wandering if someone can give me some suggestions to the
following problems I am experiencing after setting up the following
for a new customer.
Deployed Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edit
4 X Laptop users configured with the Microsoft VPN (all VPNs proved as
working using a dialup connection)
User 1 I have been unable to get his laptop connected over the VPN
either wireless or wired from his home network. It hangs on the
'verifying username/password' prompt. I have worked with Belkin
support to ensure that the router is set up correctly and should allow
VPN traffic.
User 2 The VPN works from home (although reports a slow connection
even though the user has a 1Mbit line). On his first business trip to
LA it failed to make a VPN connection from the Hotel. The hotel staff
put his laptop on the hotel DMZ but he was still unable to establish a
VPN connection. Same sympton as above ie hangs on the 'verifying
username/password' prompt
User 3 I have been able to establish a wireless VPN connection from
the users home network but it keeps dropping the connection. I then
wired the connection and the VPN works correctly and continuously
without dropping the connection
User 4 Worked from home first time without any problems
Common Denominators:
Windows 2003 SBS Premium Edition (fully patched)
XP Pro SP2 on all laptops (fully patched)
All laptops are various models but all are Sony Vaio's with built in
LAN and WiFi cards
