The more "adware", "spyware", "hijackers", "trojans", "potentially unwanted programs" and "jokes" that these programs attempt to
detect, the more
likely innocent programs will get a bad reputation as you have observed. If people would immediately fault the detecting
program for such false positive detections then maybe they wouldn't deign to be so all encompassing.
