I apologize in advance, if this is not the right group for this:
One of the people on our network has apparently gotten some programs
installed on his machine, which I don't think should be there. I have tried
the uninstall via control panel without success. We ARE behind a firewall,
but I suppose that doesn't stop someone from installing something via
IExplorer.
Some of the files are: Alt Win, Batch Assistant, Data Compiler, Indexing
Function, RON Display, SBM OS, URL.IE.APP, and others.
I have done a search and found something hits having to do with Freewire
3.0. I don't know how bad this stuff is, but I want to get it off.
Any ideas, short of buying some removal tool? It seems to me this is
probably just a scam, infect computers and sell the removal tools. But I
could be a cynic. <g>
