I do recall looking at the program briefly, and I was not impressed. I
have tried most of the software firewalls available, free and otherwise,
and it seemed like one of the least desirable to me.

I'd go with something like Kerio 2.1.5 or Sygate, or even ZoneAlarm
myself. I use Kerio here with great success. IMO, there are many other
firewalls superior to the one you're trying..
