Not to pick a nit, but for the purpose of clarity. A VPN is a 'Virtual
Private Network' and is based upon using IPSEC which requires the use of
protocols 50, 51, UDP port 500, etc. A PPTP is a 'Point-to-Point Tunnel'
and is not IPSEC based. Instead it uses protocol 47 and TCP port 1723.

But if you are attempting to use Cisco's VPN client you are using an IPSEC
VPN, not PPTP.
