The point is that if IE is in that proxy setting, then the DNS look-up
which the HOST will supersede will be bypassed. This was pointed out by a
post in Help24Hours as IE was not honering the entry in the HOST file for
a domanin entry pointing 127.0.0.1. I searched Google and found articles
to support it.
