ZoneAlarm and IIS

I need to do some web development work on my home network. Each machine is
protected by ZoneAlarm 5.0. Several problems arise:
First, ZoneAlarm seems to block a simple test (default.htm) on individual
machines. When I turn it off, the test works. How do I allow local use of
IIS without leaving myself open to attack?
Second, I have not been able to run my test remotely. I should be able to
run: htttp://MachineName/default.htm. Up this point, not. Generally, my
browser does not see the other webpage or, alternatively, is too easily
attracted to error messages....
Third, my real goal is to test a server application on my home network. Any
