I spent some time in chat last night with Linksys tech support. I asked
if there was a "proper way" to configure my router connection before I
flash the firmware upgrade.

The suggestions were:

1. Disconnect the modem from the router, first
2. Makse sure the only connection is from one of the numbered ports of
the router to the ethernet connection on the computer (Do not attempt to
connect via the WAN port)
3. Disable any software firewall on the computer
4. Make sure ICS isn't enabled
5. Make sure direct connection to internet is selected in browser
connetions menu. Do not connect through a proxy

Can anyone think of any other steps to take? I want to make sure I don't
have any issues if I can avoid them.

Thanks in advance
