Remove zone alarm and just have a decent up-to-date antivirus and make
sure you keep up-to-date with windows patches. The chances of anyone
hacking you are so remote it's not worth worrying about. Most hackers
go for universities and research institutions where security is low
and the rewards are high.
I have had several machines connected to the internet with no firewall
for the past 12 years and have never been hacked.
If however you believe the media hype and industry (profit making)
scaremongering then consider a hardware firewall/router.
