CheckPoint and L2TP

Hi

I am new to checkpoint FW1. I was reading the doc on CheckPoint FW1
and the doc seems to state that L2TP does not work over NAT device.
But there are a whole host of routers that have passthrough support
for L2TP

Perhaps, some in the know can enlighten me. Thanks
