I have no intentions on going off the deep end on this subject, and I
also knew the SP2 was not out as of yet. I guess all we can hope for is
to cross our fingers on this one. i did tell my newbies that i did
favor getting the SP2 but i want them to wait a couple weeks or at least
long enough for the gunnie pigs to have their turn at it. i have both
Linux and Windows. i am on the Linux box now, but I can see to where
some favor the Windows over Linux and vice versa. The biggest of all of
this is choice is good. No deep end going on at all. Only brought this
up because of a few other fixes that were not fixes at all. Plus a few
said they plan not to get the SP2 fix.

I guess the biggest thing i want to point out here is the fact that no
one here on any newsgroup knows what goes on in the homes of these new
computer users. We don't have a clue as to how many are using the
computer or the ages, and great lack of experience. I think it would be
best if they protected themselves both ways inbound and outbound
traffic. On the shear fact that accidents do happen. When you have more
than one on a computer you can't watch them 24/7 unless it's a child.
Telling someone that if they don't plan to go nuts on the machine is one
thing. But the underlying factor is there is no guarantee that will
happen when you have multi users on one computer. A single user needs
the protection both ways for similar reasons, and because they are not
as experienced. They don't know clicking on the pop ups on websites can
cause a Trojan to download to their machine. Most don't even know that
the email from Aunt Betty wasn't from Aunt Betty but from a impostor.
There are many other reasons to protect both ways but this is getting
long. The protection is there anyway so why not use it?
