NO, the PPTP connection is not as secure as the IPSec, the PPTP
connection was just to connect as needed to check the status/update.

Um, no, you would need to logon.

If you are going to do this with any hardware and use Tunnels, you need
to reconsider your network layout.

If you don't want to change your network, and each end is a fixed IP,
you could just permit the IP's to have access through the firewall - I
don't like this method, but you would not have to change anything..

Have you called WatchGuard to ask them about this scheme?
