Hello
After getting annoyed with XP ICS for the last time I decided to try out
Winroute as everyone always raves about it to me. My setup:
PC acting as storage box with USB ADSL modem into 10/100 Switch
2 other PCs and Mac in Switch
ICS works fine with this setup but its lack of IPSEC passthrough means I
need to ditch it. I installed the eval version of Winroute 5.1.9, set up
some basic rules and it was working great, very impressive. I then tried
to transfer some files across my LAN from PC to Mac and got approx.
1MB/sec out of it via SMB and about 4MB/sec over FTP. I tried accessing
the network share from another PC and it took much longer than usual
just to display the share. I switched off Kerio and it went back to
normal, around 8-9MB/sec.
There don't seem to be any rules apart from default in the traffic
settings. There doesn't seem to be an option to fiddle with the LAN
interface in Kerio either.
Any suggestions as to what could have been causing this? Kerio looks
like just the thing I was after but I need to get this problem fixed
before I can use it.
