Best free firewall software Kerio vs. Zone Alarm?

I'm looking for opinions on which of these two freeware firewalls is
the better (more secure) firewall software (or if there's a better
free firewall, I'm open to suggestions!). Zone Alarm is easy to use
and understand, but I'm not sure if it offers up the same level of
security as Kerio Personal Firewall, that I was using before. Because
Kerio gets into more detail as to specifying what comes in or out of
your computer. It had me set specifications for TCP/UDP/ICMP etc (even
though I was always confused about which of these protocols I should
or shouldn't allow the firewall to pass, because I'm no expert on
firewall security). Zone Alarm just has two options: Internet Zone &
Trusted Zone. Trusted Zone has something to do with local
applications, but there's nothing in ZA that allows you to specify
TCP/UDPpackets/ICMP etc. ZA seems to either block everything or block
nothing.

Any advice on what freeware firewall I should get and why?
