I've got a small network running behind a NAT router and no extra IP
Rules yet set up (because I don't yet understand them).

On my computers I have ZoneAlarm (software) running.

Many people suggest that for normal use a NAT router offers decent
protection; I can bear this out because since installing the NAT
router ZoneAlarm has not shown any incoming requests but does still
notify me of any program wanting to connect out (I do have this set).
