Some people think that just because a software firewall isn't 100%
effective at stopping outbound traffic means they're useless. By that
logic, anti-virus software is useless because it doesn't identify 100%
of all malware in existence, IDS is useless because it doesn't
identify every possible attack, IPS is useless because it can't stop
every possible attack, wearing your seatbelt is useless because you
are not 100% guaranteed to survive an accident...
