Agreed for a server farm swhere a blip now and then while the program does
something would never be noticed.
However, if rendering video or streaming audio that blip might cause an audible
click or pop or a visual noise burst in the video so it would be noticed.
IOW the idea with those type of systems is to keep things as lean and mean as
possible, in effect keeping them off the net completely is the best solution but
for those that can't do that, an on demand scanner is usually the perferred
method.

Same here, but I have had anti-virii programs kick in while tracking digital
audio and ruin things.
