Linux firewall questions

Just started at a new job and I am currently assessing the
infrastructure. Security is not my forte, I am much more into the
ERP/Programming/DB side of IT.

Anyways I have about 20 users running mostly in a Windows environment.
We have a Linux box with firewall, e-mail and web server. I have
never run this type of configuration. My experience is more in
running a Cisco PIX for my firewall.

So my questions are as follows:
1. What issues do I have with the Linux firewall.
2. What issues do I have with my e-mail and web server all being run
on the same box as my firewall.
3. Would I be better off going to perhaps a PIX 501?

thanks for the advice.
