You could run kerio set to the highest security setting, which denies all
unauthorized traffic without prompting. Then if your friends want to add
some new software, they'd have to get you to authorize it in kerio
(probably a good idea, too). But a rule-based firewall like kerio requires
a certain amount of maintenance by nature, you can't make it totally
automatic/idiot-proof.

An NAT router would also provide extra security to your friends (from
themselves).
