I think your setup is:

internet->modem/router->switch->3 computers

maybe the switch is IN the router too.

I run ZAP too, and as I understand, the internal net is considered
trusted, and the rest of the world , outside your door, is The
Internet zone.
btw. there is newer version of ZAP.

all your comps have a non-routable address in the 192.168 range, just
like the inside address of your router (?), which is also the def.
 gateway for the comps with 192.168 numbers.
Don't go with the FW of winXP. Why trust MS if you don't have to ?
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
if it's a good router/FW, you could take ZAP away, but why should you
?
