I think that one is your problem.

All of these should be set to medium-high (2nd highest setting) except
restricted (which should be at the max, and customized to be even higher,
"deny" on all settings, etc), and possible trusted (set to low), if you
want to use trusted zone. Watch out though, I've seen applications add
themselves to the trusted zone in terms of their own website.

No, you shouldn't have to. However, if you want, that would be an
interesting way of getting around that. But I suggest looking through the
firewall rules themselves.
