You can use a packet sniffer. The one I have used in the list is
Ethereal. You can activate it and let it run and it will capture all
packets leaving your machine and where the packets/network traffic is
going to what IP(s).
XP does have the the Network Monitor Capture Utility Netcap.exe and saves
the info in a (.cap) file. You'll have to install it from the XP CD.
Click *Tools* in the body of the page in the Help and Support Center off
of the Start Button and select Windows Support Tools. It will tell you
how to install it.
Also use Active Ports it will show you all active connections to remote
IP(s) and protocol being used in real time.
If you suspect an IP, then you can use the link below just enter the IP
in the box at the top of the screen.
You want to know about XP Pro and Home get the Win XP Pro Resources Kit
book. <g> There are a couple things on Pro that's not on Home but not
much and the book is good.
