The router doesn't determine/choose the ports. The router is told what
ports are being used for inbound and outbound. It's the application or
program running on the computer that sets and controls the port usage.
It's the computer's ports that need to be open or cloesd for inbound and
outbound and it's the program running on the computer that needs the
ports mapped correctly.
