Catch 22 with Norton Internet Security

I hope someone can help me.
I bought and installed Norton Internet Security 2003 ( with Personal
Firewall, Anti-Virus etc) on my computer. The program ran fine for 7 month,
but now suddenly the security is off and the individual programs are
disabled. Under "User Accounts" it gives the message "Not Logged On" and
then brings up as only user " Supervisor" and demands a password for log-in.
I am the only user, but have never before needed or assigned a password! The
program will not even let me access the Internet (web pages) anymore and go
to the Symantec Support site. Nor can I uninstall and the re-install the
darn software, unless logging first in with the password I don't have.
Any help is appreciated.
