All firewalls take up system resources. However, the supposed smallest
firewall in that department is Tiny Personal Firewall, if it still exists.

Maybe, but that's on a case by case basis. Still, I'd go with pc magazine's
rating. But beyond all this, I would like to say that windows xp has its
own built-in firewall, which is probably more towards what you want.
