I've installed more than a hundred FB units and have never seen this
problem. I have several in our office and am currently installing them
in several locations.
One thing to understand about PING - it's not a high priority for
responses from switches/etc. I use to ping HP fiber switches to see if
segments were up and found that pings could take anywhere from 0ms to
1500ms and would even fail if the switch was buys. HP said that a PING
response has the last priority for processing.
Have you considered running your test application from another location
to see if what you are pinging is doing the same thing?
