Good morning.
I have a 2MB leased line from our LAN to our remote win2K server with
a router and SonicWall SOHO firewall at each end of the pipe. I can
remotely dial in and set up VPN connection between the 2 firewalls
allowing me access to the Win2K server. I also installed VNC on the
server to allow me to remotely administer patches etc, but every time
I attempt to connect the the VNC server it tells the the "server
cannot be found".
I know the VPN connection is OK because I can ping it no problem, and
when I installed the box yesterday the VNC server was also OK. I dont
know if anyone is familiar with VNC but I am bascially opening the
viewr and typing 145.167.68.68:5800 which is the VNC servers IP
address and port number. I have enabled all VNC traffic on both
firewalls also so dont really know what else to do. Can anyone shed
any light on this problem or indeed suggest another way of remotely
accesssing the server for admin duties etc..
Thanx for your time
G
