Thank you ALL for your very helpful and informative answers. I looked
at all of them and then realized: what I am really interested in is a
complete hardware/software Linux box (small & sexy one) that meets the
criteria above (fanless/diskless, cost<$200) in which all I have to do
is turn it on, enter my additional IPTABLES rules and that's it.
Does such a box exist?
The board at http://www.soekris.com comes very close, but it is not a
turn-key solution - I'll have to build a box, drill, etc. find a flash
disk for it, etc. (not to mention that it is really more expensive
than what I outlined in my original posting).
