I've tinkered with McAfeea little, and it seems to be an utter POS.
It's not very configurable. You can only block IP addresses by Class C
(256 IP) blocks at a time, and it's port blocking configurability
isn't very good. Basically, it's only good for allowing/blocking
applications from the net; it lacks many features found in real
software firewalls. The "privacy" features with the package are a joke
and create more problems than they solve.
Plus, Sygate gives good application check and authentication. The
difference between Sygate and McAfee is about the same as the
difference between a Ferrari and a Yugo.
