The firewall of XP has very short possibilities. The filtering seem to be
good but you
can't do fine tuning to your rules, no log analysing and so on.
You don't have intrusion detection and other function like pop-up locker.
If you don't want to buy one, try Kerio personal edition (free). The version
4.0 is release
candidate 3. It seem to be better than the beta release. you will find here
http://www.kerio.com/beta_section.html

The only problem I found with, is that certain port are closed and not
stealth, even 2 ports
are open. So keep XP firewall also until release version of Kerio.
If you want to be sure, try the version 2, noted 15/20 in a few test I read,
but less function.
