I have a Netgear FR114P firewall/router. When looking at the logs I see
the following entries every 2 hours:

Fri, 2003-08-08 01:10:33 - Send out NTP Request to 192.43.244.18
Fri, 2003-08-08 01:10:33 - Receive NTP Reply from 192.43.244.18

NTP is a time check. 192.43.244.18 resolves to time.nist.gov which is the
government's time server.

The question is: what is generating these time requests? I don't think
any of the programs on my PC is doing it. Does the FR114P automatically
do a time check every 2 hours? If so, is there a way to stop it?
