I cannot tell you that it does or doesn't. I think ICF is good for
protecting the average Joe Blow home user doing average Joe Blow home
user stuff and is not geared towards protecting something like IIS on the
machine or taking high risk Internet activities.

That link I gave you explaining NAT should tell you that a simple NAT
router for home use doesn't have a *firewall*. It has NAT and maybe SPI
and the router has FW like capabilities and that is it. A router that has
a true firewall start at about $500 and up.

All routers have firmware which is the program plumbing of the router and
is updated on a periodic basis by the manufacture of the router.

I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 wire/wireless router and my network has wired
and wireless machines. And they all have BlackIce on them.

The link talks about basic wireless security.

Software.com/firewall_faqs/firewall_network_models.html

You'll want a host based FW that follows the OSI model for network
firewalls. And the link also talks about hardware and software firewalls.

That cheap NAT router doesn't have a firewall.

The protection of the machine starts with the O/S and XP has the means to
protect itself. Everything else is secondary to the O/S -- the FW, AV,
and router.

You should learn how to enable its protection features, and if you're
using IE and OE, they have protection features too --- search Google.

It's getting late and I got to go!

HTH

Later!
