Well here is the link for how to setup and maintain Brick redundancy:
https://support.lucent.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/GUIDGX-%7B6949ce8f-d22f-11d2-a303-00c04f72f8ac%7D/Live/Product/lmf/6.0/Manuals_and_Guides/0900940380021090.pdf

You will need a login account with Lucent to access.

It sounds kind of like you are getting errors on an interface or have a network
problem. As you may know, you need the Bricks to be in the same VLAN
for each matching pair of interfaces and both must be able to maintain contact
with the LSMS console. What you have sounds like a connectivity problem
where both go active. What are your settings for Activation Time and Yield Time?
As to why, what does your Event Log show? That is probably where you
will find your clues.
