All internet providers install spy packages to monitor what you are doing so
the can send you advertisements. I have SBC DSL and they install broadjump
to monitor what I do. I have since removed all the software they installed.
It isn't needed. All that is needed in the high speed connection is the user
name and password. This is installed in my router and it makes the
connection. Check all the programs installed by Comcast and disable or
remove them. See if that stops the call home activity.
