My prefference here is to allow only the default browser a green "check
mark" (remember this response, allow)
Even my mail program has to ask each time (I allow it only if I've initiated
the request).Windows explorer and any unexpected requests are all given red
'x's ("No, and don't ask me again.") I used to have my AV update in the '?'
catagory, but after over a year of only being asked when I initiated the
request, I've moved it to the green checkmark group. (I trust it now.) I
know that many corporations are using/renting online storage from comcast
and others, so you may want to determine what is generating these requests.
If you have "System Agent", or an automatic live update, happening, disable
them, and do this stuff on your own time. Find out which programs are trying
to connect because you want them to, and which are checking in on their own.
That's what your FW is for.
