Then I suspect you didn't set the "Remote Endpoint" to "Any Address" if
this one application was going to connect to many IPs.
Bear in mind that "Remote Endpoint" can be setup for one of Any Address,
Single Address, Network/Mask, Network/Range, or Custom Address Group.
As well you are not limited to configuring only 1 rule for each
application. By example you could configure 2 rules for each
application... one rule for incoming connections and one rule for
outgoing connections.

The only thing that is really a PITA about Kerio is initially setting up
the ruleset for a new application although you can always take the easy
route and let Kerio do all the configuring... which sounds like what you
did during your trial.
Letting Kerio set the rules is fine but you must also realize that those
rules can be fine tuned. Had you adjusted the rules for that particular
application you would not have found it quite the pain in the ass as
you've described.
