I just took a quick look over at the Linksys site and found this:
http://kb.linksys.com/cgi-bin/om_isapi.dll?clientID=590429&QuestionText=qwes
t&SelectName1=&advquery=%5bs%5d%5bRank%2c%2050%3a%5bSum%3a%20qwest%5d%5bMerg
e%3a%20%5bThesaurus%3a%20qwest%5d%5d%5d&infobase=linksysrev.nfo&record={3C8}
&softpage=IKW_ENU_JDocView
(In case the URL is messed up, go to the Linksys main page, click Support,
click Knowledge Base, enter Qwest in the top field and click Search
Knowledge Base. It should come up with exactly 1 article.)
It might be that Qwest uses 192.168.1.1 for something. The article has you
using the default factory configuration with the exception of changing the
router's IP address to 192.168.0.1. (Learn something new every day!) The
instructions assume your workstation(s) will pick up the configuration via
DHCP from the router. If you manually assign IP addresses, you'll have to
change your workstation(s) to the 192.168.0.x network, set Gateway to the
router's LAN IP address and plug in the Qwest DNS addresses on each machine.
Yes, I am not very fond of Linksys Tech Support. And unless there is a very
serious attitude overhaul in their management, I doubt very much my position
will change. It is a wonder they do so well in the home networking sector.
Repeat buyers? Only those who are comfortable with this stuff. For those who
have little understanding of networks, I suspect many are left frustrated.
Let me know if that URL helps out. I'm really curious.
